Day 1: Arrival
Welcome and pick up from Lyon (airport, station or city) and private transfer to Chateau Bagnols, your luxury 5-star hotel for your indulgent stay in the Beaujolais. Enjoy the first of many wonderful meals in one of the castles in-house restuarants.
Day 2: French Tuscany
A walk direct from your hotel through the beautiful historic villages of the southern Beaujolais in the region of the “Golden Stones”, starting with the tiny village of Moiré before following a ridge to the wonderful hilltop village of Oingt (classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France) where you can explore its quaint alleyways and enjoy a coffee with amazing panoramic views. After enjoying a delightful walk through vineyards and forest you'll enjoy the village of Theize with its elegant buildings and picturesque square. Expansive landscapes reminiscent of the Tuscany hills span out in all directions.
Walk: 16km, +450m.
Day 3: Chatillon, Chessy and Charnay
A private transfer will take you to the wonderful, rustic village of Charnay which sits on a ridgetop offering great panoramic views. Enjoy morning coffee in the village square before heading to Chatillon d’Azergues which climbs the slopes above the Azergues Valley, topped by its 12th-century castle and chapel. A bucolic walk along the banks of the Azergues river leads you to Chessy where you can discover its rich heritage before a gentle climb through vineyards brings you back to Bagnols.

Day 4: Guided Gastronomic Tour
Today you'll rest your legs and experience a gastronomic tour of the Beaujolais. You'll explore picturesque villages of the region, such as Pérouges in the adjacent Dombes area during a full guided day. Alexandre, your expert guide will lead you through the Beaujolais as you indulge in exclusive tastings, savouring the distinct flavours of velvety Beaujolais reds and elegant whites. Explore quaint villages with cobblestone streets, and don't miss out on the "tarte à la Praline," a flaky pastry base with a luscious combination of cream, eggs, and sugar, resulting in a rich and velvety custard-like texture.
Day 5: Jarnioux, Cogny and voie du Tacot
Your final walk takes you to the pretty village of Ville-sur-Jarnioux, nestled among beautiful hills before a short hike brings you to Jarnioux, a beautiful golden stone village with its imposing12th-century chateau, the best preserved in the whole of the Beaujolais. Cross a historic viaduct and follow the old railway line before crossing a secluded valley to end your walk in the settlement of Cogny with its grand manor houses. Transfer back to Chateau Bagnols for another wonderful evening meal.

Day 6: Departure
After a final sumptuous breakfast, a private transfer will take you back to Lyon.

Bois d'Oingt & the old railway line
Set our from your hotel in Bagnols, first exploring the fine historic buildings in the village itself before following the old railway line gently towards Bois d'Oingt. You'll enjoy beautiful expansive views of the Azergues Valley before heading into a secluded forest. Bois d'Oignt is an important local centre with a pretty square where you can enjoy coffee or lunch, as well as exploring its old historic core. Continue along the old railway line to Legny, another historic village built out of beautiful golden stones. Afterwards, decide whether to extend your walk to Les Pont Tarrets for an ice cream and the cooling forest of Flachère or return directly to your hotel in Bagnols.

Beaujolais Classic Ridge Walk
This walk covers the full range of landscapes in the Beaujolais and is often considered as the must-do walk in the Beaujolais. From the village of Perreon climb up through the vineyards within a picturesque, secluded valley. You'll then explore the pretty village of Vaux-en-Beaujolais before following a picturesque ridge as it climbs up through pasture to the forested tops. The ascent finishes on a ridge partly covered by protected moorland and pastures providing great panoramic views across the rolling Beaujolais hills.

St Cyr le Chatoux and Panoramic Views
Starting from the ridgetop village of St Cry le Chatoux this is a walk where the landscape unveils itself gradually over the course of the walk with wonderful panoramic views from the summits. A trail in the forest is followed by a lovely traverse to reach Col du Chatoux. Climb to a first summit for wonderful views across the Beaujolais and then over a second hilltop at nearly 900m.
