Visit the Golf Tavern (by the Meadows) and rent some clubs for a round of pitch & putt on the Brunstfield Links. Round it off with a drink and pub meal in the bar! The Ancient Capital of Dunfermline offers an almost tourist-free stop en route North. The Abbey towers over the town and is the resting place of King Robert the Bruce. Industrialist & philanthropist Andrew Carnegie was born in the town and his childhood home is now a free-to-visit museum, just steps from the Abbey! Should you choose to drive south along the shore of Loch Lomond then consider a brief visit to the Falls of Falloch. This small but stunning cascade is a great pit stop (if you can find a parking space) to stretch your legs and take some charming photos!
