Travelling Better, Together: Our Commitment to Responsible Tourism

HPH News - 30/03/26

At High Point Holidays, we are committed to ensuring that our activities and holidays are a vector for positive change in the local community and the wider environment. That is why we are currently undertaking a full review of our activities to assess our environmental and social impacts. We will look to further minimize any negative effects whilst strengthening the positive aspects of our holidays, by enhancing the local community, its culture, economy and environment.

For our part, we are dedicated to selecting locally owned businesses, recommending eco-friendly transportation options, and championing local traditions and products. Furthermore, our company is actively developing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy to ensure that we are taking the lead in running a responsible business that minimizes its global impact whilst creating socially positive benefits.

Our Vision: Travel That Inspires and Respects

We are dedicated to creating journeys that are not only memorable, but also respectful of the environments and communities that make them possible. We believe travel should be a force for good: preserving traditions, supporting local economies, and fostering genuine human connections.
Our experiences are designed to be enriching on a deeper level, the kind that stay with you long after you return home.

Our Core Values

Uniqueness

No two travellers are the same, so why should their journeys be?
We take the time to understand who you are, what you love, and what inspires you. Every itinerary we create is thoughtfully crafted to reflect your personality, your interests, and your pace. Your trip is truly your own.

Authenticity

We believe the soul of a destination lies beyond the obvious.
That’s why we go off the beaten path to reveal the real character of a place, its traditions, its people, its way of life. Whether it’s sharing a meal with locals, discovering regional craftsmanship, or experiencing a village festival, we help you connect with what makes each place unique.

Respect

Respect is at the heart of everything we do.
It shapes the way we work with our partners, the way we design our itineraries, and the way we guide our travellers. We carefully select accommodations, activities, and transport options that honour local cultures, protect natural environments, and ensure fair value for the communities involved.

Our Commitment to Responsible Travel

Responsible tourism is not a trend for us, it is an ongoing commitment.

We actively:
  • Prioritise locally owned businesses
  • Recommend environmentally friendly transport options whenever possible
  • Promote local traditions, products, and craftsmanship
  • Design trips that contribute positively to local communities and economies
We are also currently conducting a full review of our activities to better understand and improve our environmental and social impact. Our goal is simple: minimise negative effects and strengthen the positive ones.
Because for us, travel should leave a place better — not just visited.

A Continuous Journey: Our Travelife Certification

As part of our commitment to doing better, we are engaged in the Travelife certification process.
This means taking a step back and reviewing every aspect of how we operate:
  • Our legal and organisational practices
  • The way we work as a team and support one another
  • The design and content of our trips
  • Our relationships with partners and suppliers
  • How we communicate with our travellers
We chose to begin this process with a clear mindset:
the goal is never to be perfect, but always to improve.

Working Together: Our Shared Responsibility

Creating more responsible travel experiences is a collective effort. That’s why we’ve developed dedicated resources for both our partners and our travellers:
These documents are designed to inspire, guide, and empower everyone involved in the journey.

What We Already Do

At High Point Holidays, our commitment to responsible tourism is already reflected in our everyday actions, both in our offices and in the way we work:

  • We use a green energy provider to reduce our environmental impact

  • We apply sustainable best practices in our offices, including recycling, switching off lights and heating when leaving, unplugging computers once fully charged, and using reusable water bottles
  • We keep the team engaged through internal initiatives and challenges, such as a “Sustainable Actions Calendar” in December, encouraging small daily habits at work
  • In early 2026, we are launching a “Bingo Challenge” to further promote more sustainable ways of working with our suppliers and clients

These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to embedding sustainability into our daily operations and team culture.

What’s Next

We know that meaningful change takes time, structure, and commitment. Over the next two years, we are focusing on concrete actions to go further:
  • Highlight sustainable accommodations in our internal systems
  • Develop a long-term strategy for accommodation selection
  • Monitor destinations where sustainable options are still limited and identify alternatives
  • Evaluate a sample of our trips to identify improvements and implement changes in 2027
  • Keep the team engaged through challenges in their daily work, as well as through presentations in team meetings
These steps will help us make more informed decisions and continue raising our standards.

Choosing how you travel matters.
By travelling with High Point Holidays, you are not only discovering beautiful destinations. You are supporting a way of travelling that values people, culture, and the environment.
