Introducing Fanny, our French expert from the Monts D'Or, close to the city of Lyon. Following her studies in tourism which concentrated on the creation of tailor-made holidays, she has gained a wealth of experience in her short career to date. She first worked as a wilderness tour guide in Lapland, before working as an assistant for a tour operator in Greece. Fanny then spent two years in New Zealand selling camper van holidays to French-speaking travellers prior to working as a hotel receptionist on her return to France.

Fanny joined the High Point Holidays team in May 2023 and enjoys organising off-the-beaten-track trips in France that allow you to fully explore regions, like her home in the Beaujolais. But she also shares a passion for the ocean and will be delighted to plan a trip to one of the beautiful French coasts like Brittany or in the Basque Country.

When she’s not advising holiday makers on their next trip, she likes to relax at home through yoga and meditation.

Her last trip

In the south-west of France, near the ocean between Bordeaux and Lacanau with friends. They went on walks in the countryside, shopped at local markets, admired the sunset from terraces and spent a day in the Medoc National Park, on “la route des vins”.

Her dream destination

She would love to spend a few weeks around York and Harrogate in England, simply to enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the little cafés, taste typical British dishes, lose herself in the bookshops and chat with the locals.

Fanny's favourite place off the beaten track in Paris

“As someone living close to nature, I love spending time in parks whenever I'm in cities to take a break from the urban hustle and bustle. My favourite park in Paris is Buttes-Chaumont Park. Nearby, the Belleville neighbourhood showcases amazing street art!”

A memorable experience

"At the time I was in New Zealand, I was able to go away for the weekend with a van from the company where I worked. I wanted to go hiking but didn't have any equipment or a clear idea of where to start. I was going to spend the night at a campsite, and I met some people who wanted to do the same hike as me and were better prepared. We ended up going together at 2 am, and we had a wonderful view once we got to the top of the mountain, above the clouds, the sky pink and red, and the little bonus, a lady who offered me a slice of chocolate cake that she had made herself. It was so nice!”
