"These Queyras walks provide some of the best mountain walking in France, maybe in Europe, with spectacular views and delightful calm, well away from tourists. The hotels are just right - comfortable, well-run, large rooms with balconies, good food and reasonably priced wines. The mountain trails are well marked, the walking notes are good. In my 70’s I did not climb every peak, that’s for younger and fitter walkers, but I did a good 6 hrs per day, got to the lakes and the mountain cols and enjoyed fabulous scenery.
