Les 4 Saisons, Cantal, France

The four seasons B&B guest house in the heart of the Cantal mountains in Central France is used on our guided walking holidays in this stunning region.

The Cantal mountains in the Southern Auvergne make up some of the most beautiful landscapes in Central France. At the heart of this amazing mountain range is the ampitheatre created by peaks such as Puy Mary and Puy Griou which encircle the Jordanne Valley. The Four Seasons guest house is located on the edge of the Village of Madailles which lies near the head of the Jordanne Valley. The B&B is located just above the valley floor and has superb views of the surrounding mountains.

Take a look at the principles behind our choice of guest houses

Geraldine will reserve a warm Cantal welcome. The guest house has 4 individually and tastefully decorated rooms in a former Masters house which overlooks the village. Breakfasts are copious affairs and include a number of local products such as jams, yogurts and honey. Evening meals are simple but very tasty, offering great French cuisine using locally sourced produce. Meals are taken in the charming dining area.

They have also built a gite in the grounds to accommodate walkers trekking from one guest house to another. The garden of the guest house is a wonderful spot to relax after a hard day's walking in the Cantal mountains.

This is an eco-friendly guest house using an automatic wood burner fed by pellets for the heating and hot water. They also recycle and compost where possible.

A couple of the walking tours on our French guided walking holiday in the Cantal leave directly from the guest house.
