Le Fetre, Beaujolais, France
Holiday Accommodation for Beaujolais Walking Holidays
Le Fetre B&B is located in the northern Beaujolais region of France and is used, (according to availability) during our independent walking holiday - High Beaujolais Hills and our Beaujolais Wine Trails
Le Fetre guest house is located in a tiny hamlet of the same name in the heart of the northern Beaujolais surrounded by vines, in the parish of Chiroubles. In this wonderful spot, Maria and Jean-Louis will reserve you an especially warm welcome in their historic wine producers house.
This guest house is ideal for welcoming guests on our French walking holidays, located at the limit between the vines and the upland hills and forests. It is a historic property which has been restored to provide modern comfortable accommodation. Le Fetre is a small B&B, with only two individually decorated bedrooms, underlying our policy of trying to use small independent guest houses in France. Something that is difficult for larger companies with large client numbers.
Le Fetre is a relaxing place to stay. Enjoy the balcony with amazing views across the Chiroubles vines, one of the 10 celebrated vintage Beaujolais wines. It's a lovely spot to relax after a day's walking and exploring in the French Beaujolais region.
Breakfast is a chance to enjoy local jams, special country bread, freshly pressed fruit juice and other treats that will set you up nicely for your day's walking. They will provide you with a lovely picnic for midday. Evening meals are delightful affairs prepared by Maria, who is of Portuguese origin but who's lived in France for 20 years. Her origins give an added dimension to the tasty local dishes. Your wine comes from their own vineyard which is overseen by Jean-Louis, who'll take great pleasure in explaining the virtues of the Chiroubles crus. If the weather is warm and fine, meals can be taken on the balcony. Find out more about the Beaujolais wines.
On your self-guided or independent walking holiday you'll arrive at the guest house after climbing through the wine producing areas of Regnie and Chiroubles. After your stay at Le Fetre, your route takes you along a beautiful ridge to the chapel above the village of Fleurie. Take the time to enjoy the great views across the Beaujolais vines.
