Le Clos des Garands
Located in the famous French wine growing region of Beaujolais, Le Clos des Garands guest house is used on our independent walking holiday in France - Beaujolais Wine Trails
Le Clos des Garands guest house is located on a vineyard close to the village of Fleurie in the heart of the wine growing region of northern Beaujolais surrounded by vines. In this delightful spot, Marie-Paule and Jacques will reserve you a warm welcome in their historic wine producers' house.
This guest house is ideal for welcoming guests on our French walking holidays, located in the vineyards of one of the best Beaujolais Crus. The Clos des Garands is a large historic property with plenty of character with a lovely dining area. This guest house has four delightful rooms, all individually decorated with a number of tasteful period pieces of furniture and with lovely views out across the vineyards to the village of Fleurie. Our choice emphasises our policy of trying to use small independent guest houses in France. Something that is difficult for larger companies with large client numbers.
The Clos des Garands is surrounded by a large wooded garden or parkland where you can relax or take a nap in the shade of a mature tree. Enjoy the views across the Fleurie vines, one of the 10 celebrated vintage Beaujolais wines. It's a lovely spot to relax after a day's walking and exploring in the French Beaujolais region.
The guest house does not do evening meals, but, depending on the day of your stay there are a number of good quality restaurants in the village. You'll enjoy a wine tasting visit with Jacques in the wonderful cellar, underneath the guest house. Find out more about the Beaujolais wines.
On your self-guided or independent France walking holiday you'll arrive at the guest house after passing through famous wine producing areas of Julianas, Chenas and Moulin à Vent. After your stay at Clos des Garands, your route on this walking holiday in France takes you up to the chapel on the hill above Fleurie for great panoramic views, which on a clear day stretch all the way to the French Alps. Afterwards your walking tour follows a beautiful ridge to the vines of Chiroubles and your next delightful guest house - Le Fetre.
