We have created a selection of unique and inspiring walking holidays that let you experience that little bit more. With both guided and independent walking holidays to choose from, you can be sure to find the holiday that’s right for you. Whether you’re looking for gentle strolls amongst the vineyards and historic villages of the Beaujolais in France or more challenging mountain trekking between the towering faces of the French Alps, there is something here for everyone.

For 2011, we have walking holidays in France and the French Alps, England, Scotland, Spain and Madeira as well as tailor-made holidays in further afield destinations such as Bulgaria and some classic treks in the High Atlas and Kilimanjaro in Africa. Our walking holidays in France explore forgotten areas rather than follow the crowds. We also give you an authentic slice of French life during your stay through our choice of accommodation and meals.

Guided walking holidays

Our guided walking holidays are ideal for people who wish to walk in a small group of between 4 and 8 like-minded people. Our walking holidays typically use several guest houses letting you explore the full richness of an area, whilst experiencing the local way of life. Our guides are based locally and are passionate and knowledgeable about the region. There are no single supplements on our guided walks in France, provided you are prepared to share a room with other singles of the same sex.

Independent walking holidays

Our independent walking holidays are suited to people who wish to have greater flexibility and independence. You walk at your own pace, planning the day around your own interests. Full walking notes are provided, along with 1:25,000 walking maps so that you don’t have to worry about finding your way. Our walking holidays typically follow a circuit going from one guest house to the next, letting you explore the full richness of an area. Some give you the opportunity to have time off from walking to explore an area in more detail.  There is the possibility of adapting our independent walking holidays to your requirements. We also have self catering independent walking holidays for those looking for additional flexibility. It may also be a good solution for those on a tight budget.

Our holidays are for the most part full board and often include drinks with your evening meals. Travel from a local designated pick-up point is sometimes included.
