Walking LEADERS

Our guided walking holidays in France are led by William Armstrong*. We ensure that all leaders are qualified in first aid and are competent to lead groups through qualifications or relevant experience. They are also very knowledgeable about your destination.

William Armstrong

In early 2003, William gave up his Town Planning job in the UK and moved to France. Since then, he has spent much of his time exploring the hills and mountains of France and has never looked back. Currently living in the Beaujolais with his French wife and two children, he is fluent in both English and French. He has extensive walking and mountaineering experience in the UK, Europe, America and Nepal and has led parties in the UK and France. With his father, William has developed High Point Holidays and so is now able to share with you his passion and knowledge for France’s magical landscapes. Always jovial, with plenty of stories to tell, William will be your perfect antidote to working in the office (or whatever work you are escaping from). Finally, his experience, qualifications and interests in various subjects, including Geography, Geology and the Environment, provide an added dimension to all our French holidays.

Marie-Christine Armstrong

Williams’ wife, or better half, will join us for the Wine, Walk and Talk short break in the Beaujolais. A local to the Beaujolais region, she is both informative and knowledgeable about the local area, as well as being your dedicated French tutor for the holiday.

*In the event that William Armstrong is not available due to illness or some other unforeseen circumstance, High Point Holidays will employ a qualified bilingual local guide.
