Lyon city break and Beaujolais Nouveau

Lyon is a beautiful city dating from pre-roman times, located in the heart of France at the confluence of the Saone and Rhone rivers. For more information visit our summary page on Lyon. Each year, on the third Thursday of November, Beaujolais region celebrates the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau.

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival in Lyon, transfer to Hotel and start of visit

Day 2: Visit Lyon

Visit Lyon at your own pace. Suggested circuits and sights are included in our detailed notes, as well as places to eat and drink. Handy tips are included to help you make the most of your holiday.

Day 3: Visit to the Beaujolais region

Guided visit to a number of picture-postcard villages and to a vineyard. After lunch take a stroll through the streets of Villefranche-sur-Saône, the capital of the Beaujolais. Local wine growers, as well as other local producers line the High Street providing plenty of opportunities to sample the local specialities.

Day 4: Departure

Visits (depending on time of your departure), transfer to Lyon airport or station
