High Point Holidays is an exciting new Anglo/French collaboration which brings together the experience and knowledge of its two partners, father and son, Tony and William Armstrong. Both Tony and William are experienced walkers, cyclists and golfers. Tony is based at our registered office in Shaftesbury among the rolling hills of Dorset, whilst William, our principal walking leader and local representative, is based in the Beaujolais region of France.

Their shared passion for the great outdoors was made all the more poignant in 1997 when Tony and William walked the Welsh 3000’s* for charity, just months after Tony had recovered from cancer. Now, all these years later Tony and William are channelling their energy and enthusiasm into making High Point Holidays a byword for quality, active holidays in France. This doesn’t mean 5 star hotels or Michelin classed restaurants, rather it signifies a commitment to personal and flexible service, whilst also matching rewarding activities with a unique and authentic local experience.

We are at your total disposal, before, during and after your holiday, to ensure this is the case. We also use local partners to compliment our own representatives.

Finally, whilst we acknowledge that we are not the cheapest on the market (we do not have the scale of operation to compete with larger companies), we do not choose the simplest options (e.g. when it comes to accommodation) because for us, local character and authenticity is more important than a few pence or a few extra phone calls. What we can guarantee over price is an unparalleled level of commitment to bring you an enjoyable and memorable holiday that will be quite simply – the High Point of your year.
